Some massive acts are set to perform at Soma 2018: world renowned singer-songwriter Paul Brady, working class hero Damien Dempsey, genre-defying supergroup the olllam, and the phenomenal Sharon Shannon, among many other great artists.

This project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) and has received £27,000 of funding. Primary objectives of the project are: The promotion of positive relations characterised by respect, where cultural diversity is celebrated, and people can live, learn and socialise together, free from prejudice, hate and intolerance.

Taking place from 18th – 22ndJuly 2018 in Castlewellan and surrounding areas, this funding has enabled the festival to include more cross community activities and workshops such as an Artisan Market, yarn bombing workshops, wellbeing workshops, intercultural choir performances, music sessions and street performances, and much more besides.
